Helping Haiti with Chicken and Yogurt
Nubi Yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ come together in the month of love by combining efforts to help Haiti by launching their own Love for Haiti Charity Drive across 42 restaurants.
Walnut, California, Feb 12, 2010 – To jumpstart its Love For Haiti Charity Drive, Nubi Yogurt offers free yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ will donate a percentage of chicken sales for Haiti. Nubi and Ono will accept donations until the end of February for Love for Haiti hearts which donors sign and display in the store to show their support for this cause.
With over 200,000 dead, 300,000 injured, and a massive need for emergency aid, shelter, medical help, food and water, Nubi Yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ request people to come together in this time of need to raise donations for Haiti. On Valentine’s Day February 14th, the charity drive begins with Nubi Yogurt offering a “buy one yogurt, get one yogurt free” deal and Ono Hawaiian BBQ donating 50% of the sales of the day derived from their signature dishes Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu, to bring in more donations.
On Feb 15th, as an effort to continue to bring in more donations, Nubi yogurt will give away free yogurt with a $1 minimum donation all day long.
At the end of February both companies will send 100% of donations collected to aid relief efforts in Haiti. Joshua Liang, the CEO of the two companies, comments:
“I am optimistic that our employees and local communities will come together to support this cause and that anything that each of us can do for the drive will make a difference.”
